Women’s Health Circle is the first practice of its kind here in North Queensland. We are passionate about providing a specialised service for women living in rural and regional Australia that is equitable to services available in metropolitan areas.

Our service specialises in high quality ultrasound service with state of art technology to accurately diagnose conditions affecting women throughout their lifetime. Our service can assist with contraception to complex gynaecological problems, from early pregnancy hurdles right through to advanced pregnancy screening to fetal anatomy and fetal growth and wellbeing.

Maternal

Maternal health is paramount in the lead up into pregnancy, for birth and beyond. We specialise in pre-conception counselling along with providing up to date information for screening tests in preparation for a future pregnancy.

We specialise in 1st trimester screening of both the mother and the baby along with screening for pre-eclampsia, fetal growth restriction and preterm delivery, using the Fetal Medicine Foundation algorithm. This is one of the few places in North Queensland that offers this type of screening, which is routinely offered in metropolitan areas and other states.

Fetal

We provide a range of services from early pregnancy and routine ultrasounds to advanced pregnancy screening to tertiary level consultation in the setting of a fetal abnormality or high risk chromosomal result. We can perform diagnostic investigations (such as amniocentesis and chorionic villous sampling) while providing compassionate care in the setting of pregnancy complications and uncertainty.

Gynaecology Ultrasound

Our service can perform routine pelvic ultrasounds, fertility assessments and complex care. We have pioneered an endometriosis and pelvic pain ultrasound service here in North Queensland. We have highly trained sonographers who are skilled and compassionate in the assessment of women who experience pelvic pain and have dysfunctional bleeding.

Our service includes placing Mirena’s under ultrasound guidance, particularly for women who have not had pregnancies or procedures yet. We use 3 different types of analgesia at the time and women report minimal pain or discomfort during the procedure.

We specialise in delivering pregnancy and gynaecology care along with Obstetric and Gynae related ultrasound, to women who are living both in Townsville and in remote parts of North Queensland.

Our team includes an experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with Subspecialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine along with experienced sonographers and Administration staff.

Care on Country

Our Care on Country program delivers women’s health services including both Obstetric and Gynaecology ultrasound to remote regions of North Queensland.
