Dr Rosh Samuel has been working with Women’s Health Circle since 2023. Rosh is a Fetal Cardiologist and is the only Fetal Cardiologist working outside of Brisbane, bringing high level tertiary care to regional and remote families, closer to home.
Rosh trained in Perth and Canada to develop this subspeciality in fetal cardiac ultrasound and has pioneered this essential new service in both private and public sectors.
Rosh has holistic, family centred approach and is well regarded for his clear communication and compassionate care, particularly with complex cardiac problems.
About Dr Rosh Samuel
Dr Rosh Samuel is a Paediatric and Fetal Cardiologist practising at Mater Private Hospital Townsville, dedicated to supporting children and their families facing suspected or diagnosed heart conditions.
He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at James Cook University in 2010, followed by a Diploma in Child Health through the University of Sydney and Westmead Children’s Hospital. He holds dual Fellowships with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Paediatric Cardiology and General Paediatrics.
Dr Samuel undertook specialist training at leading centres – including British Columbia Children’s Hospital (Vancouver) and the Royal Children’s Hospital (Melbourne) – before completing an advanced fellowship in fetal and neonatal cardiology at the University of Alberta under world renowned mentors.
He is the clinical lead of paediatric cardiology at Townsville University Hospital, after establishing the service in 2022. He also continues to work at the Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.
With expertise in both paediatric cardiology and general paediatrics, Dr Samuel takes a holistic, family-centred approach to cardiovascular care, considering the broader context of each child’s health, development and wellbeing.
He is a passionate educator, teaching at James Cook University and mentoring junior doctors across Queensland.
